Psychedelic Preparation & Integration Support

Trauma-Informed Support Before and After Your Psychedelic Journey

Support for Your Psychedelic Healing Journey

Psychedelic experiences have the potential to open doors to deep healing, but the experience itself is only part of the journey. Having therapeutic support before and after can make the difference between a powerful experience whose impact fades and a transformational experience that has lasting impact.

I offer trauma-informed preparation and integration therapy for people who are planning to use or have already used psychedelics like psilocybin, MDMA, or ketamine. This service does not include administering the psychedelics themselves – my role is to help you prepare for what might arise, process what surfaces during your experience, and integrate those insights into meaningful change in your life. (If you're looking for ketamine therapy provided directly in our sessions, I offer that through my Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy service.)

I bring my training in EMDR, parts work, and psychedelic-assisted therapy to this work, offering trauma-informed support throughout your journey.

How is this different from Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy?

In my Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) sessions, the ketamine journey takes place in session with me. Psychedelic Preparation and Integration services, however, are for people who are receiving psychedelic experiences elsewhere and want professional therapeutic support around those experiences. Both include preparation and integration but only KAP includes the medicine journey.

When You Might Need This Support

Preparation: Before Your Journey

You're considering a psychedelic experience but feel uncertain about what to expect. Maybe you're exploring options like psilocybin, planning a retreat, or curious whether this path is right for you. Preparation sessions help you get clear on your intentions, understand what might arise, identify the parts of you that are hopeful or hesitant, and build the internal resources you'll need. This groundwork makes a significant difference in how you experience and benefit from your journey.

Integration: After Your Experience

You've had a psychedelic experience and now need help making sense of it. Perhaps memories surfaced that you weren't expecting, or you're feeling emotionally stirred up and unsure how to process what happened. Maybe you gained insights but don't know how to apply them to your daily life. Integration work is where the real transformation often happens – it's the bridge between the experience itself and lasting change. You don't have to figure this out alone.

The Preparation and Integration Process

In Preparation Sessions:

  • Clarifying what you hope to gain from your psychedelic experience

  • Understanding what to expect and how to work with what arises

  • Identifying and addressing fears, concerns, or internal resistance

  • Building emotional resources and coping skills for difficult moments

  • Using Internal Family Systems to understand the different parts of you showing up around this decision

In Integration Sessions:

  • Processing memories, emotions, or insights that emerged during your experience

  • Making meaning of challenging or confusing aspects of your journey

  • Translating psychedelic insights into practical changes in your daily life

  • Working with any trauma material that surfaced using EMDR when appropriate

  • Supporting you as you transition back into regular life with new awareness

My Training & Approach

I am a Certified Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Provider. I completed a comprehensive, one-year training program with Integrative Psychiatry Institute, where I completed advanced coursework in working with ketamine, psilocybin and MDMA. Additionally, I travelled to Colombia to  learn about ayahuasca through Modern Spirit’s ten-day ayahuasca retreat and training for healthcare practitioners.

These programs emphasized trauma-informed care, harm reduction, cultural awareness and ethical practice.  I integrate these trainings with my expertise in EMDR and Internal Family Systems to offer compassionate, trauma-informed support for your psychedelic journey.

Psychedelics in the Therapeutic Context

Each psychedelic substance works differently and offers unique healing possibilities. While I don't provide these medicines directly, I offer support to individuals working with them.

Psilocybin

A naturally occurring compound found in certain mushrooms. Clinical research demonstrates its effectiveness for depression, anxiety, and existential distress. Psilocybin experiences tend to be introspective and can involve emotional release, vivid imagery, and shifts in perspective.

MDMA

Known for creating feelings of emotional openness, safety, and connection. Research shows particular promise for PTSD treatment because MDMA can reduce fear responses while maintaining access to difficult memories. This combination makes trauma processing more approachable.

Ketamine

Originally used as an anesthetic, in lower doses is now an evidence-based treatment for treatment-resistant depression. Research also shows promising results for anxiety, OCD and PTSD. Ketamine has fast-acting anti-depressant effects. It can interrupt rigid thought patterns and provide relief from emotional overwhelm by increasing neuroplasticity in the brain.

Ayahuasca

A traditional Amazonian plant medicine. Indigenous peoples have used ayahuasca for centuries in healing, spiritual, and shamanic ceremonies, often to gain insight, emotional healing, or connection to the spiritual world.

Common Questions About Psychedelic Preparation and Integration

  • Ideally within the first week while your experience is still fresh, but integration can be valuable even weeks or months later if things continue surfacing or feel unresolved.

  • Yes, all preparation and integration sessions are available via secure telehealth for residents of California and Utah.

  • No. I'm a psychologist, not a prescriber, and most psychedelic substances aren't currently available by prescription. My role is providing the therapeutic support around psychedelic experiences, not the medicines themselves.

  • Preparation and integration sessions are $230 per 50-minute session.
