My Approach to Trauma Therapy and Healing

I will work with you to create a plan that addresses your unique situation and preferences.

I have an integrative, holistic approach to therapy that is centered in my relationship with each client. I want, most of all, to see your life as you do and come to understand the values and strivings that motivate you. From there, we can find a way forward, toward healing and thriving.

I chose the phoenix as the symbol of my practice because it beautifully represents the heart of what I believe healing and growth are all about—transformation.

I chose the phoenix as the symbol of my practice because it beautifully represents the heart of what I believe healing and growth are all about—transformation.

In the legend, the phoenix is reborn from its own ashes, radiant and renewed after walking through the fire. I see this as a powerful reflection of the human experience: we all face times when life feels heavy, uncertain, or even burned to the ground. Yet within those moments lies the possibility for deep change and renewal.

My work is grounded in helping clients find their own strength in those seasons of challenge, to rediscover meaning, hope, and purpose. The phoenix reminds us that transformation isn’t about erasing the past—it’s about honoring it, learning from it, and allowing it to inform who we become.

How I Work with Complex Trauma and PTSD

Depending on your needs and preferences, I often use somatic approaches, imagery, and mindfulness practices that can provide you with new learning about yourself. I also teach skills that will help you feel more mastery over your emotional responses and thinking patterns. I often help people make connections between their current thoughts and behaviors and early life experiences, which allows the opportunity for change in the present.

I believe in the importance of learning and practicing skills to regulate emotions and behaviors. At the same time, I know that the deep work goes beyond skills and requires knowing all parts of self in a witnessing, safe environment. If you're dealing with complex trauma, PTSD, or intergenerational patterns, this deeper exploration creates lasting transformation that helps you move from feeling stuck to truly thriving.
