Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started with Therapy
-
The best way to find out is through a free 20-minute consultation call. This gives us both a chance to see if we're a good fit and for you to ask any questions about my approach.
-
I provide telehealth services to residents of California and Utah.
-
I accept clients who use Lyra benefits through their employers. For all others, I can provide a superbill for you to submit for out-of-network reimbursement upon request.
Understanding Different Therapy Approaches
-
While traditional talk therapy is valuable, trauma can create "knots" that are hard to work through with talking alone. I use approaches like EMDR, somatic therapy, intensive therapy programs, and ketamine-assisted options that can access and heal trauma in ways that go beyond cognitive processing.
-
If you notice patterns like feeling stuck when trying to move forward, difficulty with intimate relationships, avoidance of certain memories, or negative beliefs that seem to sabotage your progress, trauma-informed therapy will likely be helpful.
-
Somatic trauma therapy recognizes that trauma is stored in the body, not just the mind. This approach helps you tune into your body's wisdom and release trauma that may be held in your nervous system and physical body.
Therapy Intensive Programs
-
Intensives allow for deeper, more focused work without the start-stop nature of weekly sessions. You can make significant progress in a shorter timeframe, which is especially helpful for specific traumas or when you're feeling stuck in regular therapy.
-
Intensives work well for motivated individuals who want to accelerate their healing, those working on specific traumatic memories, people who travel frequently, or as an adjunct to ongoing therapy with another therapist.
Investment in Your Healing
Therapy is an important investment of your time and money. I have set my fees at a rate that reflects the training and experience that I bring to each session. The length of treatment will depend on your goals and situation, but I am confident that you will leave each session feeling seen and increasingly more equipped to make the changes you seek.
Session Types and Investment
Individual therapy sessions: $230 per 50-minute session
Extended sessions for targeted memory work with EMDR and Ketamine-Assisted EMDR Therapy: $345 per 75-minute session
Intensive therapy programs: $300/hour on weekdays and $500/hour on weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy: Preparation and integration sessions are $230 per 50-minute session. The ketamine administration session is $575 per 2.5 hour session.
-
Payment is expected at the time of service for most services. For intensives, a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. I can discuss payment options during our consultation call.
-
Because I hold time specifically for our sessions, I require 24 hours notice for cancellations. Any cancellation within a 24-hour window will be charged at the session fee.
For intensives, because I am holding many hours for our work together, cancellations are required two weeks in advance of Day 1 of your intensive. If you cancel the EMDR Intensive within 2 weeks of Day 1, you will be charged the total amount of the intensive program at the time of cancellation.
Telehealth and Logistics
-
I use secure, HIPAA-compliant video platforms that are easy to access from your computer, tablet, or phone. You'll need a private space and stable internet connection.
-
Yes, virtual EMDR can be just as effective as in-person sessions. I use various bilateral stimulation techniques that work well through telehealth.
-
Yes, KAP can be done safely and effectively via remote work. You will need a trusted adult in the house, who can be contacted by the therapist if needed. They will not need to be in the same room as you, though.
-
We will discuss your needs in our early sessions and develop a plan for support.
